Using the Sky Fabric in my Capitol Art Quilt

After visiting the State Capitol with my son and his girlfriend, it made me realize  how really beautiful our Wisconsin Capitol here in Madison is.  It spurred me on to begin my new project.

After dying the gradation from light to dark blue fabric a couple days ago, I decided it would make a great sky for my the project.

The "gradation" blues from most concentrated dye (darkest) to almost all water (lightest).

I only needed to use the lightest to the medium portion (save the darkest for another project.  I think the gradation gave more “life” to the piece than just using a plain blue.  What do you think?

I just finished it, and it’s now up on my Etsy site!
