Crazy Christmas Tree Progressing

After making a “plethora” of folded fabric ornaments for my Shop, friends, and family (and for me too), I’m finally back to piecing my Crazy Christmas Tree Quilt.

All the blocks are done!  Yeah!!  And I purchased backing fabric in a matching green (same designer line).

After trimming each block to the same size, my studio floor is full of cute scraps…

Almost all the blocks are up on my design wall, ready to sew together!  …I need a larger design wall (in fact a larger “studio” wouldn’t hurt!).

In the meantime, I’ve also tried something new—crocheting “preemie” hats for Mikayla’s Grace.  Here are a few I just sent in the past few days, aren’t they cute—so tiny.

Isn’t it fun to try something new?  I’ve always loved to make things—knitting, crocheting, embroidery, sewing…  But quilting has become my passion.  During the winter months it’s nice to have some hand work (like knitting or crocheting) to do in the evenings while watching a movie on TV (or “Downton Abbey” reruns—getting ready for the big premier of Season 5!!).  Are you a Downton Abbey fan?

Until next time,
